Police chiefs on board with gun background checks | News

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Association of Police Chiefs said it’s on board with a portion of background checks for gun purchases.

The bill would require all county clerks to report the names of citizens who are listed as adjudicated mentally incompetent, meaning a court has found the person to be dangerous to themselves or others.

Oklahoma is currently among several states that do not submit its mental health records to a national database.
