CANADIAN COUNTY, Okla. – Canadian County authorities arrested a former reserve police officer.
Twenty-seven-year-old Daniel Cox was taken into custody after investigators said he contacted an undercover investigator who was posing as a 15-year-old girl on the internet.
Cox requested a nude photograph and sent several sexually explicit test messages detailing what he planned to do to the person he thought was an underage teen girl.
Within a few hours of communicating with the decoy, he requested to meet the “teen” in Yukon.
He was taken into custody and booked into the Canadian County Jail.
Police also found a loaded handgun inside his vehicle.
Cox faces charges of facilitating, encouraging or soliciting sexual conduct with a minor and use of a firearm while committing a felony.
