10th annual Yukon Senior Games comes to town | Community Spirit

Seniors in Yukon will be able to compete against each other to claim the title of "Most Athletic."
The Yukon Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring the 10th annual Yukon Senior Games, which will be held from Tuesday, April 12, 2011 through Saturday, April 16, 2011.
The event offers athletic competition for adults 50 years young and older. Over 150 participants come from the metro area and even out-of-state to compete in the "Live Long and Compete" games.
The competitions include basketball, billiards, bowling, golf, horseshoes, pickelball, table tennis, track and field, washer pitching and weight lifting.
On Tuesday, April 12, 2011 participants can enjoy a leisurely day of non-competitive games including a wellness walk, bocce ball, ladder toss and Wii bowling.
In addition to the athletic events, there will also be a series of activities and a creative writing and photography contest.
On Thursday, April 14, 2011, visitors can enjoy the social/health fair expo which will be held at the Robertson Activity Center. The social will consist of a casino night complete with live music, dinner, dancing, door prizes and socializing.
Casino games include Blackjack, Texas Hold'em and others. Health booths will offer information and discount coupons.
Senior Games paid participants will get a free ticket to the social, while all other attendees pay a $5 entry fee.
